Waiver Wire Wishlist (Fantasy Hockey) - Week 4

Another week of fantasy hockey is in the rearview mirror. This week’s suggestions weren’t as good as our Week 2 suggestions, but we did have some minor successes in the likes of Evan Bouchard and Jonathan Bernier. On top of that, Trevor Zegras had two goals and two assists over the last seven days. That isn’t too bad for a guy off waivers. I would have liked to see more ice time out of Derrick Brassard and Anthony Duclair but let’s move onto Week 4!

Each week, Nate will suggest his favorite waiver wire additions for the upcoming scoring week. He’ll tend to keep his suggestions under 40-percent owned on Yahoo. Every scoring position (C, LW, RW, D & G) will be included in each edition of this series. You can find last week’s results below and overall season results at the end of this article. At least one of the suggestions will be owned in less than 10-percent of leagues to cater to as many leagues as possible.

Week 3 Results

Trevor Zegras, C/LW, Anaheim Ducks - 17:36 TOI/G, 2 G, 2 A, -1

Derrick Brassard, C/LW, Philadelphia Flyers - 14:09 TOI/G, 1 A, +1

Anthony Duclair, LW/RW, Florida Panthers - 16:3 TOI/G, 2 G, 1 A, +3

Evan Bouchard, D, Edmonton Oilers - 23:16 TOI/G, 1 A, -3, 1 PPP

Jonathan Bernier, G, New Jersey Devils - 60 TOI/G, 1 W, 2 GA, 33 SV

Week 4 Suggestions

Troy Terry, RW, Anaheim Ducks - Owned in 29% of Yahoo Leagues

Week 4 Matchups: vs. NJ, vs. ARI & vs. STL

There are very few players who are currently as hot as Troy Terry is. He’s currently on an eight game point streak. He has five goals and five assists over those same eight games. He’s recorded over 20 minutes of ice time over the last two games. Along with Terry, the entirety of the Ducks right now are as hot as ever. Add Terry and ride this hot streak into the ground.

Yanni Gourde, C/RW, Seattle Kraken - Owned in 37% of Yahoo leagues

Week 4 Matchups: @EDM, vs. BUF & @ARI

Since returning from off-season shoulder surgery, Yanni Gourde has been playing in the Kraken’s top two lines, scoring points in four of six games. He’s scored one goal and five assists, so if you play in a category league and need assists, here’s your guy. He also has one power-play-point. He’ll stay on the team's top power play for the rest of the season. He’s worth an add in the majority of leagues.

Adam Henrique, C/LW, Anaheim Ducks - Owned in 38% of Yahoo Leagues

Week 4 Matchups: vs. NJ, vs. ARI & vs. STL

Like Terry, Adam Henrique is having himself a hot start to the season. He has recorded points in seven-of-ten games. He has four goals and five assists on the season to offer help in both categories. In his last three outings he has three goals and two assists. It’s odd for the Ducks to be playing some quality hockey coming from multiple angles but here we are. Like I said with Terry, ride this train until it derails.

Brandon Montour, D, Florida Panthers - Owned in 4% of Yahoo leagues

Week 4 Matchup: vs. WAS & vs. CAR

Brandon Montour is a name not many hockey fans and fantasy players know about. He spent the first six years of his career in both Anaheim and Buffalo, who have been two of the worst teams in the league over the past few seasons. He’s now in Florida, where he’s off to a hot start this year. He has a goal and two assists with a plus-two to start the season. He’s in line for a career year and is minimally owned on a very good team. Get him now.

Craig Anderson, G, Buffalo Sabres - Owned in 36% of Yahoo leagues

Week 4 Matchups: @SJ, @SEA & vs. DET

Am I really about to suggest the Sabres goalkeeper? Yes. He has a goals-allowed-average of 1.98 on the season and four wins with an impressive .939 save percentage. In four of his last five starts in goal, he’s recorded at least 16.4 fantasy points while going over 20 twice. Don’t let the fact that he plays in Buffalo deter you, he’s worth the add.

Week 2 Results

Charlie Coyle, C/RW, Boston Bruins - 15:33 TOI/G, 1 G, 2 A, +1 & 1 PPP

Jakob Silfverberg, RW, Anaheim Ducks - 16:37 TOI/G, 3 A & +2

Jonathan Drouin, C/LW, Montreal Canadiens - 18:03 TOI/G, 3 A, -1 & 1 PPP

Bowen Byram, D, Colorado Avalanche - 18:01 TOI/G & 2 A

Anthony Stolarz, G, Anaheim Ducks - 5 GA & 31 S
