Waiver Wire Pick-ups - Week 11

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/markelle-fultz-shows-plenty-of-promise-in-magic-debut-looks-comfortable-as-a-scorer-and-creator/

Before you say anything, I know it’s been a few weeks since my last edition of the Waiver Wire Pick-ups for Fantasy Basketball. There’s no excuse for my absence, so we’re back now as this series will become live on our website (www.weknowfantasy.com) every Saturday night. There will be no set number of players featured each week but there will be at least five. All of the players too will be owned in less than 40-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues. Since the last edition was Week Eight, we won’t recap how we did in the previous week, but will in each week moving forward.

Week 11 Suggestions - (Dec. 30 - Jan. 5)

Aaron Holiday, PG, Indiana Pacers - Owned in 28% of Yahoo and 6.5% of ESPN leagues

Next Week’s Games: PHI, DEN & @ATL

Whatever Holiday is doing is helping the Pacers win games. In early December Holiday started for Malcolm Brogdon and the Pacers won. The following game, the Clippers had their way with Indiana as Holiday returned to the bench. Following that loss, Holiday has played at least 21-minutes in every game sense and has scored in double-digit points as well. The Pacers are also 6-1 over that span. Now, over the Pacers’ last four games, Holiday has played at least 30-minutes and the Pacers are 4-0. Victor Oladipo is still a month away from returning so there is still plenty of value to get out of Holiday until then.

Markelle Fultz, PG/SG, Orlando Magic - Owned in 40% of Yahoo and 15.3% of ESPN leagues

Next Week’s Games: ATL, @WAS, MIA & UTA

Fultz has really come on as of late. Over the past month he has averaged 28-minutes-per-game and is now nearing the 30-minutes-per-game mark. He isn’t a high volume scorer but is averaging over 12 in the last month and doing so with a good percentage, as he is shooting nearly 50% from the field. He does very well in the assist category as well. It’s honestly surprising to see him below the 40-percent owned mark. Let’s not forget to mention that he gets four games this week too.

Christian Wood, PF/C, Detroit Pistons - Owned in 6% of Yahoo and 0.9% of ESPN leagues

Next Week’s Games: @UTA, @LAC, @GS & @LAL

This is a risky move to make as we really don’t know what the future holds but it’s a move worth making in my opinion. Over the past few weeks owning Wood has been frustrating as he has had a bone bruise in his knee and Head Coach Dwane Casey has been light in his usage. He played 23 minutes on Dec. 26th and went for 22 points and seven rebounds. The upside is there. Let’s just hope Casey continues to allow him to see the court moving forward.

Ducan Robinson, SG/SF/PF, Miami Heat - Owned in 44% of Yahoo and 6.8% of ESPN leagues

Next Week’s Games: @WAS, TOR, @ORL & POR

I know Robinson is owned in more than 40-percent of Yahoo leagues but he’s minimally owned in ESPN leagues so I felt that makes it okay for me to include him. I’m all over this guy. Not only because he is eligible in three positions, which is rare, but because he’s flirting with top 100 fantasy value for both the season and the past week. He doesn’t turn the ball over and shoots the three ball extremely well. He’s shooting 48-percent from the field, 46-percent from three and an impressive 95-percent from the stripe. He’s a must add in my book.

Damion Lee, SG, Golden State Warriors - Owned in 38% of Yahoo and 8.9% of ESPN leagues

Next Week’s Games: @SA, @MIN & DET

The problem with this selection is that Lee is a two-way player and he is reaching the end of his maximum time unless his contract is converted, along with teammate Ky Bowman. Lee has been playing well enough for the Warriors to make that move and even if they don’t he’s a quality streaming option for this week. He’s averaging 30-plus-minutes-per game and adding 15.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.1 steals per contest. Most probably remember hearing his name time-and-time-again Christmas Day when he went for 22 points and 15 rebounds in a win over the Rockets.
