Streamable Defenses - Week 13

https://silverandblacktoday.com/2020/09/25/johnathan-abram-raiders-bright-spot-on-young-defense/

Now we’re cruising with another successful week on the Streamable Defenses front. Each of our options have topped nine fantasy points. After breaking into the top ten of fantasy football defenses on the season a week ago, we’ve moved our way up in to the top five at fifth overall on the backs of the Carolina Panthers’ Week 12 performance. We have four more weeks of this series to attempt to get even further up the charts.

The premise of this article is to bring forth three streamable defenses that fantasy football players should look to use for that respective week. To qualify for this series, defenses must be owned in less than 40-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues. At least one of the suggested defenses will be owned in less than 10-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues to cater to every fantasy player. You can find last week’s results below and previous week’s results at the bottom of this article.

The New York Giants were our top option for Week 12 and they did not disappoint. The under-appreciated defense used an interception and two fumble recoveries in route to nine fantasy points. The Seahawks put up the same stat line on Monday Night Football as Carson Wentz and the Eagles continued to turn the ball over. Wentz threw an interception and was sacked six times. Our top performing defense this week was actually our suggestion that was owned in less than 10-percent of leagues. The Carolina Panthers recovered three fumbles and scored two defensive touchdowns to score 19 fantasy points. Like I previously mentioned, this was a great week for us and this series.

Week 12 Results

New York Giants at Cincinnati Bengals - 9 points

Seattle Seahawks at Philadelphia Eagles - 9 points

Carolina Panthers at Minnesota Vikings - 19 points

Week 13 Suggestions

Las Vegas Raiders at New York Jets - Owned in 9% of Yahoo and 3.4% of ESPN leagues

The Raiders’ defense is not good by any measures, but on the other hand, the New York Jets’ offense can make any defense look good. The Jets have given up the most fantasy points to opposing defenses. This trend won’t stop even with facing a suspect defense such as Las Vegas. This week we’re going to roll with the Raiders as not only our defense owned in less than 10-percent of leagues, but our top suggestion as well.

Tennessee Titans vs. Cleveland Browns - Owned in 26% of Yahoo and 14.9% of ESPN leagues

This Cleveland Browns’ offense is stagnant. They’ve scored ten points-or-less in two of their last four games. On top of that, they’ve scored just 22 and 27 points in their latest two games. The two defenses they scored ten-or-less points against were the Raiders and Texans, who both are bottom end defenses in this league. The Titans have also averaged one take away in each of their last four games. They’re also getting better at getting to the quarterback as of late.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Buffalo Bills - Owned in 38% of Yahoo and 38.4% of ESPN leagues

This 49ers’ defense is still elite, despite missing some of their biggest names and talent. They’re continuing to get guys back from injury every week. I know this matchup is not ideal, but the 49ers’ defense is getting close to matchup proof. On top of this, Josh Allen has been sacked 22 times on the season and has thrown eight interceptions. The Bills running game has been limited this season and the 49ers’ secondary is getting healthier each week. They recently welcomed back Richard Sherman, who had an interception in his return to the field.
