We put together a list of guys for this week that consists of an overlooked stable forward, a red hot forward, a under-the-radar defensemen and a long shot goaltender. Damn, it almost feels like the Kentucky Derby.
Joel Farabee, LW/RW, Philadelphia Flyers

Farabee has eight goals, nine assists and a plus-seven on the season. I’m not sure why he is only rostered in 55-percent of yahoo leagues. Over his last five games, Farabee has three goals, three assists, plus-one and 19 shots on goal. Farabee obviously likes shooting the puck. The Flyers are one of the teams with lots of makeup games. Farabee is also left wing and right wing eligible.
Drake Batherson, RW, Ottawa Senators

Week 7: vs. CGY, @MTL, @CGY & @CGY
Stop reading this article, go to your league’s waiver wire, pick up Batherson and come back to continue reading. Just let me say this, a goal in five straight games with two being on the power play. His ice time has increased from 15:00 to 19:00 minutes-per-game over the last seven games. The drawback to Batherson is the fact the Senators give up lots of goals, so it will effect the plus/minus star line.
Brett Pesce, D, Carolina Hurricane

Again I’m going to hammer home that finding quality defensemen so far this season seems to be a struggle. Pesxe has one goal and two assists over his last three games. Totally not very sexy. However, he is averaging north of 23:99 minutes-per-game over his last six games. Pesxe does have two goals and ten assists on the season, so he is capable.
Carter Hutton, G, Buffalo Sabres

Week 7: @NYR, @NYI, @NYI & @NYI
Ok, so here we are with the “a goalie on a bad team” pickup. Hutton is not a top goalie, but Linus Ullmark is out for a few weeks and Jonas Johansson doesn’t seem to be a solid option for the Sabres. Hutton gave up three goals to the Flyers on Saturday, but he also had 33 saves. We all want those goalie “dubs” but in a league with saves being heavily weighted Hutton could be a find.
