Zay Jones has been traded to the Raiders for a 5th round pick. He’s a versatile receiver, but last season he saw his success really come from playing the slot. This could be a fresh start for the former second round pick.
He’ll steal targets from Williams, but that doesn’t matter. Williams is 41st in total targets on the season and 45th in overall target share at 19%. His money maker has been his deep targets and red zone looks from Derek Carr. My guess is Jones will play the slot, which Carr loves to use. There should be a slight decline but not enough for fantasy owners to panic. Waller shouldn’t see any dip in production. Jon Gruden loves him, and they will continue to throw to the tight end.
Jones can develop into an enticing WR3 for fantasy if he gets the targets. He has two weeks to get on the same page as the rest of the Raiders. He’s worth a look in dynasty leagues, as he could see a bigger role in the future. For now, he’s only a stash if you want to see how the Raiders will use him.
On the Bills side, Cole Beasley should see a nice bump up in his production and should be owned in any form of a PPR.
