Waiver Wire Wishlist - Week 15

theathletic.com/player/nfl/raiders/nelson-agholor/

For the first time in about two years, the We Know Fantasy Waiver Wire Wishlist is coming at you in article form. For about two years, this series has come to you Monday Night’s during the NFL season each and every week. Due to a scheduling conflict, Nate will bring this series to you for Week’s 15 and 16 via article.

I typically like to keep my suggestions around or below the 40-percent owned mark in both Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues. The format I’ll follow is one quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers and one tight end. As always, the Streamable Defenses of the Week article will drop tomorrow (Tuesday) as scheduled. The remainder of the We Know Fantasy podcasts will continue as normal throughout the season.

There was no episode and/or article last week due to Nate’s aforementioned scheduling conflict, so therefore there are no results from Week 14. Let’s get onto Week 15.

Quarterback

Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles) - Owned in 18% of Yahoo and 8.9% of ESPN leagues

In a debut where many (including myself) thought Jalen Hurts would struggle, he put on a show. He recorded just shy of 20 fantasy points at 19.28 against a very tought Saints’ defense. Part of his allure is of course his rushing ability. He ran the ball 18 times for 106 yards. He added another 167 yards through the air with a touchdown. Now, for the next two weeks, he gets a very favorable matchup for quarterbacks. The Arizona Cardinals (Week 15) have allowed the 12th most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks and the Dallas Cowboys (Week 16) have allowed the 11th most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. If you need a quarterback to finish out your season, Hurts is your guy.

Runningbacks

DeAndre Washington (Miami Dolphins) - Owned in 24% of Yahoo and 20% of ESPN leagues

I always say it, but when you can get a starting runningback at this point of the season off waivers, you have to go with it. Washington didn’t do much with his 13 carries in Week 14, going for just 35 yards. He also caught two passes for 17 yards. Myles Gaskins is on the COVID list and Salvon Ahmed is dealing with a shoulder injury. The Dolphins also get the Patriot this week, who just let Cam Akers run wild on them for 171 rushing yards.

Jeff Wilson Jr. (San Francisco 49ers) - Owned in 19% of Yahoo and 8.4% of ESPN leagues

Although Raheem Mostert dominated chances in that 49ers’ backfield, Jeff Wilson seems to get most of the goalline work. He scored the 49ers’ lone rushing touchdown of the week last week. He saw 11 carries in that Week 14 game with the Washington Football Team and caught a pass as well. He also gets a great matchup this week with the Dallas Cowboys who have allowed the sixth most fantasy points to opposing runningbacks.

Wide Receivers

Nelson Agholor (Las Vegas Raiders) - Owned in 36% of Yahoo and 27.5% of ESPN leagues

Agholor had another quality week as he caught five passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. He did this against a very good Colts’ secondary. He has some great matchups for the remainder of the season, with the Bengals and Dolphins. The Bengals and Dolphins have allowed the 14th and 17th most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers respectively.

Chad Hansen (Houston Texans) - Owned in 2% of Yahoo and 2.8% of ESPN leagues

The Texans are struggling for receivers. Brandin Cooks was unable to go this week with a foot injury. The team will also be without Will Fuller for the remainder of the season. This has opened doors for Hansen who has seen seven receptions in each of his last two games. He totaled 157 yards over those two outings going against very tough secondaries in the Colts and Bears. He gets the Colts again in Week 15 where he just topped 100 yards two weeks ago.

Lynn Bowden Jr. (Miami Dolphins) - Owned in 1% of Yahoo and 0.6% of ESPN leagues

Here’s a bonus pick for you. Bowden led the Dolphins’ receiving corps in both targets and yards after the team lost Devante Parker in the first quarter. As Parker’s status remains up in the air for the Dolphins Week 15 tilt with the New England Patriots, look for Bowden to see increased chances again. As the Dolphins continue to fight for a playoff spot (yes you read that right) they may need to lean on the likes of Bowden.

Tight End

Dan Arnold (Arizona Cardinals) - Owned in 1% of Yahoo and 0.5% of ESPN leagues

Here’s a deep pickup for you. Arnold is slowly becoming one of Kyler Murray’s go to targets, especially in the red zone. He’s recorded four touchdowns over the last four weeks. He’s touchdown dependent, but his playoff schedule is favorable. The Eagles (Week 15) have allowed the eighth most fantasy points to opposing tight ends and the Minnesota Vikings (Week 16) have allowed the 15th most.
