Wow. What a disappointing week on our end. This is easily the worst week in arguably the history of this series. Let’s put this past week behind us and move onto Week 12.
I typically like to keep my suggestions around, or below, the 40-percent owned mark in both Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues. The format I’ll follow is one quarterback, two running backs, two wide receivers and one tight end. As always, the Streamable Defenses of the Week article will drop tomorrow (Tuesday) and Nate’s B-Team series will drop every Saturday. Be sure to follow We Know Fantasy (@WeKnowFantasy) on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to keep up-to-date with all of our fantasy football content.
Tua Tagovailoa was the only bright spot of all of our Week 11 suggestions. He threw for 272 yards and two scores against the Jets. Rhamondre Stevenson ran the ball 12 times for 68 yards and caught his one target of the game. Wayne Gallman ran the ball once for negative three yards. Marcus Johnson saw one target and Jamal Agnew hit the IR. Dan Arnold didn’t record a single fantasy point against the 49ers.
Week 11 Results
Tua Tagovailoa (Miami Dolphins) - 18.52 points
Rhamondre Stevenson (New England Patriots) - 8.5 points
Wayne Gallman (Atlanta Falcons) - -0.3 points
Marcus Johnson (Tennessee Titans) - 0 points
Jamal Agnew (Jacksonville Jaguars) - 5 points
Dan Arnold (Jacksonville Jaguars) - 0 points
Week 12 Suggestions
Quarterback
Tyrod Taylor (Houston Texans) - Owned in 6% of Yahoo and 5% of ESPN leagues
Week 12 Matchup: vs. NYJ
Tyrod Taylor got the start for the Houston Texans in Week 11 in their surprising victory over the Tennessee Titans. He threw for just 107 yards, but did rush for two touchdowns. That’s the upside you’re looking for out of Taylor. He finished with 19 fantasy points against the Titans and gets the Jets this week, which we all know is a favorable fantasy football matchup. This is strictly a one week option, or a streaming option, but if you need a quarterback in Week 12, Taylor is your man.
Taysom Hill (New Orleans Saints) - Owned in 5% of Yahoo and 2.4% of ESPN leagues
Week 12 Matchup: vs. BUF
I’m going to offer a bonus quarterback pickup this week. Many thought, including myself, that once Jameis Winston went down, Taysom Hill would be the next man up. That job went to Trevor Siemian instead. However, after several poor performances by Siemian, rumblings have circulated in New Orleans that Hill will get the start this week against the Bills. If that’s the case, Hill is a fantastic fantasy option, with a huge rushing upside. What’s there to lose in New Orleans? Give Hill the start!
Runningbacks
Latavius Murray (Baltimore Ravens) - Owned in 36% of Yahoo and 28.3% of ESPN leagues
Week 12 Matchup: vs. CLE
Following a four game absence (five weeks including the Ravens’ bye week) Latavius Murray has returned for the run-first Ravens’ offense. He ran the ball 10 times for 32 yards. That in itself is not too appealing but seeing double digit chances after a somewhat lengthy absence is promising. Murray also caught both of his targets on Sunday.
Tevin Coleman (New York Jets) - Owned in 3% of Yahoo and 2.8% of ESPN leagues
Ty Johnson (New York Jets) - Owned in 21% of Yahoo and 18.8% of ESPN leagues
Week 12 Matchup: @HOIU
This is strictly a flier pick this week as Michael Carter left Sunday’s tilt with the Ravens with an apparent ankle injury. Without Carter, both Coleman and Johnson played 34-percent of the snaps. Not much came from the snaps, but with the waiver wire being so limited this week, they’re worth mentoning. If Carter is to miss next week’s game with the Texans, Coleman and Johnson would get some fantasy relevant work. I’d prefer Johnson due to his pass catching abilities for PPR leagues, but Coleman should see more carries.
Wide Receivers
Marquez Valdes-Scantling (Green Bay Packers) - Owned in 9% of Yahoo and 3.2% of ESPN leagues
Week 12 Matchup: vs. LAR
Marquez Valdes-Scantling (MVS) caught just four of his team high ten targets in Week 11, but his big play potential allowed him to go for 123 yards and a score. With Allen Lazard out with a shoulder injury, MVS saw an increase in targets. We’ll see if Lazard can return in Week 12, but he did not practice once prior to Week 11. Anyhow, this Packers’ team is hot and will have to put up points to compete with the Rams. With DeVante Adams likely seeing Jalen Ramsey, MVS could have another big week ahead of him.
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (Tennessee Titans) - Owned in 0% of Yahoo and 0.2% of ESPN leagues
Week 12 Matchup: @NE
Here’s a player available in nearly every single league out there. With the likes of Julio Jones on the IR, Derrick Henry out for the year and A.J. Brown banged up, someone on this Titans’ offense has to produce. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine had a huge Week 11 in a losing effort to the Houston Texans. He caught seven-of-eight targets for 107 yards. He’s had some other big weeks on the year, so this isn’t new to him. Don’t expect NWI (we can abbreviate everyone’s name, right?) to win you leagues, but if you have a roster spot with what’s going on with the Titans, I’d say he’s worth it.
Tight End
Evan Engram (New York Giants) - Owned in 33% of Yahoo and 26.7% of ESPN leagues
Week 12 Matchup: vs. PHI
There is one reason and one reason only that I’m suggesting Engram this week, that’s because Engram gets the Philadelphia Eagles this week. The Eagles have allowed the most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. This defense gets consistently gets torched by opposing tight ends. Engram had back-to-back games with touchdowns prior to Monday Night’s game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, that is being played as I type this.
