It wasn’t my top streamable defense of the week that put up massive points, but we had success with one of our picks as the Denver Broncos put up 23 fantasy points against the Tennessee Titans. Our top option, Washington, too put up quality numbers with 10 fantasy points. If you used our top options over the past three weeks (Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington) you would have had 64 points from your defense alone, that’s pretty good. If you followed our recommendations, you would have posted DST2 numbers, to only the person who had the New England Patriots (66 points.)
Every week we offer three defenses to stream and are owned in less than 40% of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues. I also include at least one defense that is very minimally owned and is available in nearly every league out there, to tend to everyone. This series goes live on our website every Tuesday night. You can find last week’s results below and previous week’s results at the bottom of this article.
Week 6 Results
Washington at Miami Dolphins - 10 points
Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions - 3 points
Denver Broncos vs. Tennessee Titans - 23 points
Week 7 Streamable Defenses
Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts - Owned in 42% of Yahoo and 23.4% of ESPN leagues
The Houston Texans have recorded at least one turnover in every game thus far this season. They’ve recorded at least two turnovers in two of the past three games. They’re also fresh off of limiting Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs to 24 points last week. The Colts are a quality team and are starting to click with Jacoby Brissett under center. This is also a divisional game, which adds a sense of uncertainty. The Texans have also posted eight-plus points in four of six games thus far this season. They’re over the 40% owned mark in Yahoo, although just barely.
Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings - Owned in 3% of Yahoo and 2.7% of ESPN leagues
This Lions’ defense is for real. They had back-to-back tough matchups with the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers where they allowed 28 and 23 points respectively. They have another tough matchup with the super hot Minnesota Vikings this week. The Lions have recorded at least two turnovers in every game except their week one matchup. Matt Patricia has this team clicking on all cylinders.
New York Giants vs. Arizona Cardinals - Owned in 2% of Yahoo and 0.8% of ESPN leagues
Options for streamable defenses this week aren’t the greatest. Every week we have a clear cut top three to pick from. I wanted to put the Kansas City Chiefs on primetime against the Denver Broncos here, but as history shows, Patrick Mahomes is not good during primetime games, which would keep the Chiefs’ defense on the field more often. Knowing that, I’ve opted to go for the New York Giants. I know the Cardinals’ offense has been clicking as of recent, but they’re still a team lead by a rookie quarterback and a rookie head coach. The Giants have recorded eight turnovers over the past four weeks. They’re at home this week, fresh off a 12 fantasy point performance to the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football. They get to the quarterback often, recording at least three sacks in all but Week 1 this season.
