Streamable Defenses - Week 5

https://rolltidewire.usatoday.com/2020/09/20/reaction-trevon-diggs-has-bright-future-with-cowboys/

We got the job done. We didn’t hit the ball out of the park but we did manage to hit a double up against the wall with our Week 4 suggestions. The premise of this article is to bring forth three streamable defenses that fantasy football players should look to use for that respective week. To qualify for this series, defenses must be owned in less than 40-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues. At least one of the suggested defenses will be owned in less than 10-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues to cater to every fantasy player. You can find last week’s results below and previous week’s results at the bottom of this article.

Our top suggestion for Week 4, the Denver Broncos, put up six points against the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football. They did so on the back of six sacks. Our top performing suggestion was the Broncos’ opponent, the New York Jets. The Jets intercepted Brett Rypein three times and recorded a touchdown. They did allow 37 points, so they ended up with eight fantasy points. Eight fantasy points is nothing to shy away from though. We had higher hopes for the Arizona Cardinals against the Panthers but the Panthers’ offense has been overperforming a bit as of late.

Week 4 Results

Denver Broncos at New York Jets - 6 points

Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers - 1 point

New York Jets vs. Denver Broncos - 8 points

Week 5 Suggestions

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants - Owned in 26% of Yahoo and 21.3% of ESPN leagues

The Dallas Cowboys need a win in a bad way and what a time to get it. The New York Giants haven’t scored over 16 points thus far this season, which was week one. They’ve scored just nine points in the previous two games. This is an offense that cannot get anything going. I know the Cowboys’ defense has been like a block of swiss cheese, with holes everywhere. Like I said, this is a game they must win and we know their offense is not the issue here. Maybe after losing a game where Dak Prescott scored five touchdowns and tossed 400+ yards, a fire may be lit underneath them.

New York Jets vs. Arizona Cardinals - Owned in 22% of Yahoo and 22.8% of ESPN leagues

The Jets have put together a couple of decent defensive fantasy outings thus far this season. Like stated in our introduction to this article, they picked off the Broncos’ three times and had a defensive touchdown. In Week 1 they scored seven fantasy points on the back of three sacks and two fumble recoveries. They’ll host the Cardinals this week, the same team that posted just 21 points against the rather weak Carolina Panthers’ defense. In the week previously they scored just 23 against the Lions. Now, if the Jets can hold them to 20-some points, while recording a few sacks and a take away, they’ll have another solid defensive outing, at least fantasy wise.

Washington Football Team vs. Los Angeles Rams - Owned in 6% of Yahoo and 7.9% of ESPN leagues

This Los Angeles Rams’ offense is all over the place. One week they look like they’re back to their old-selves and then they go out and score 17 points against the poor New York Giants’ defense. Washington’s defense has already had a big week at an unexpected time with hosting the Eagles in Week 1. They posted 15 fantasy points that week. They have allowed 30+ points in each of their last three games, but have faced the Cardinals, Browns and Ravens. When options are limited, this defense filled with studs across the board, Washington could score big for you this week.

Week 1 Results

Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears - 1 Point

Tennessee Titans @ Denver Broncos - 3 Points

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts - 6 Points

Week 2 Results

Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns - -2 Points

Seattle Seahawks vs. New England Patriots - 3 Points

Arizona Cardinals vs. Washington Football Team - 9 Points

Week 3 Results

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Carolina Panthers - 4 points

Cleveland Browns vs. Washington Football Team - 14 points

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Miami Dolphins - 0 points
