Streamable Defenses - Week 4

https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/steelers/2018/11/28/tj-watt-maurkice-pouncey-derek-watt-mike-pouncey-pittsburgh-steelers-los-angeles-chargers/stories/201811280178

Here we are once again, it’s time for the Week 4 Streamable Defenses! Each week I will be offering three separate defenses owned in less than 40% of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues that can be used in their respective week as a streamable defense. Pinpointing the best option to stream each week is crucial for fantasy football success. Last week we had some great options that produced great numbers. We will post the results of our previous week below and the results of prior weeks at the end of this article. Let’s get to it.

Week 3 Results

Week 3 was very successful for us. Our top streamable defense for the week, the Green Bay Packers, posted 13 points. The 49ers came in with seven points and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that were owned in less than 1% of leagues across Yahoo and ESPN formats posted eight points. All were great last week and all posted quality numbers.

Green Bay Packers vs. Denver Broncos - 13 points

San Francisco 49ers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers - 7 points

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New York Giants - 8 points

Week 4 Streamable Defenses

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals - Owned in 19% of Yahoo and 15.8% of ESPN leagues

As you’ll see later in this article, I’m projected this game to be a mess. Along with projecting the Bengals’ defense to have a good week, I think the Steelers’ defense will do well also. Over the last two weeks, with games against two high powered offenses in San Francisco and Seattle, the Steelers’ defense have scored 18 points. Now they get the troubled Bengals at home. The Seahawks’ defense scored 12 fantasy points in Week 1, the 49ers scored 7 in Week 2 and the Bills scored 11 points last week against the Bengals. With the way the Steelers defense is trending and the same with the way the Bengals are allowing opposing defenses to score, I’ll take this matchup.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Oakland Raiders - Owned in 16% of Yahoo and 20.9% of ESPN leagues

This one should come as no surprise to anyone. Everywhere you look the Colts’ defense is being scooped up left and right. They’re a top the trending transition section on Yahoo. The Raiders have struggled since their Week 1 victory over the Denver Broncos. In Week 2 the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense posted 11 points against the Raiders and in Week 3 the Vikings’ posted seven points. The Colts are a low-key quality defense. Expect them to follow suit with the Chiefs and Vikings and have a nice week against the struggling Raiders.

Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers - Owned in 1% of Yahoo and 0.9% of ESPN leagues

This one will come as a surprise to most. The Bengals’ defense as a whole have posted a combined nine points over the first three weeks. However, they get the Steelers and Mason Rudolph this week. Rudolph threw for 174 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Steelers’ loss to the 49ers on Sunday. This Bengals’ defense has some decent pieces on it, namely Geno Atkins, who is a force to get to any quarterback. Rudolph was uncomfortable last week as the 49ers caused constant pressure. Expect a similar result come this Sunday.

Week 2 Results

Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars - 10 Points

Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts - 8 Points

Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 6 Points
