Streamable Defenses - Week 2

https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/3051389/joey-bosa

Insert one of the .gifs where someone is hiding their face. That’s how I felt watching my top streamable defense of the week, Cincinnati Bengals, get picked apart on Thursday Night Football. Anyhow, we will prevail! Each Tuesday, this series will go live on weknowfantasy.com. The premise of this article is to bring forth three streamable defenses that fantasy football players should look to use for that respective week. To qualify for this series, defenses must be owned in less than 40-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues. At least one of the suggested defenses will be owned in less than 10-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues to cater to every fantasy player. You can find last week’s results below and previous week’s results at the bottom of this article.

Like I previously stated, my top pick of the week was the Bengals playing the Browns, who looked flat in Week 1, on Thursday Night Football. That was obviously the wrong choice. Seattle and New England played a fantastic night cap on Sunday Night Football. The Seahawks did post three fantasy points in that high scoring affair. Our top performing defense of the week was the Cardinals playing host to the Washington Football Team.

Week 2 Results

Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns - -2 Points

Seattle Seahawks vs. New England Patriots - 3 Points

Arizona Cardinals vs. Washington Football Team - 9 Points

Week 3 Suggestions

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Carolina Panthers - Owned in 32% of Yahoo and 29% of ESPN leagues

A top tier defense against a Christian McCaffrey-less Carolina Panthers? Yes please. Even with McCaffrey on the team, the Panthers have allowed the ninth most fantasy points to opposing defenses through two weeks. On top of that, the Panthers are traveling across the country to play the Chargers. Everything points to a fantastic performance out of the Chargers’ defense this week.

Cleveland Browns vs. Washington Football Team - Owned in 17% of Yahoo and 12.3% of ESPN leagues

I picked the opposite side of the Browns’ previous game with the Bengals last week. This Browns’ defense is lowkey rather good. I know they’ve allowed 68 points through the first two weeks thus far this season, but they’ve also recorded five sacks and two fumble recoveries. This week they play host to the Washington Football Team. This Washington Football Team has allowed 12 fantasy points thus far to opposing defenses across the first two weeks with the Eagles recording three and Cardinals with nine. Dwayne Haskins has already been sacked seven times and will face a much better defensive line than he’s seen thus far in Cleveland. Washington has also lost the ball via fumble twice. Look for Haskins to get rattled and flushed out of the pocket, forcing him to make some bad throws.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Miami Dolphins - Owned in 2% of Yahoo and 1% of ESPN leagues

In terms of defenses owned in less than 10-percent of leagues, choices are limited this week. I think the best of our options are the Jaguars. Now, this Jaguars’ defense hasn’t done anything of note honestly. They did pick-off Philip Rivers in Week 1 but only have two sacks on the season. They’ve also allowed 53 points. They get Miami at home this week, in one of the few stadiums across the country that allows fans. This Dolphins team did post 28 points last week against a very good Buffalo Bills’ defense. They also only posted 11 points to the Patriots in Week 1. This team has the ability to put up good performances but more often than not, will post some mediocre numbers. I’m hoping the hot start this Jaguars’ offense has going for them will transfer some momentum to the defense this week.

Week 1 Results

Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears - 1 Point

Tennessee Titans @ Denver Broncos - 3 Points

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts - 6 Points
