Streamable Defenses - Week 15

https://www.dallascowboys.com/news/vander-esch-says-neck-injury-all-behind-me

It really sucks that I played the Carolina defense over my other two suggestions who absolutely went off. If you played either the Dallas Cowboys’ or the Washington Football Team as a result of this series, you can thank me. If you played the Carolina defense, why didn’t you play the other two defenses? I’m just kidding. Anyhow, let’s move onto Week 15 and the Fantasy Football semi-finals.

The premise of this article is to bring forth three streamable defenses that fantasy football players should look to use for that respective week. To qualify for this series, defenses must be owned in less than 40-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues. At least one of the suggested defenses will be owned in less than 10-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues to cater to every fantasy player. You can find last week’s results below and previous week’s results at the bottom of this article.

The Washington Football Team’s dominant performance of Nick Mullens and the San Francisco 49ers propelled us up to DST4 on the season. Washington’s defense used two defensive touchdowns, two fumble recoveries, an interception and four sacks in route to 23 fantasy points. The Dallas Cowboys scored a defensive touchdown and recovered three fumbles in route to 18 fantasy points. We won’t talk about the Carolina Panthers’ defensive outing. Let’s move onto Week 15.

Week 14 Results

Carolina Panthers vs. Denver Broncos - 2 points

Dallas Cowboys at Cincinnati Bengals - 18 points

Washington Football Team at San Francisco 49ers - 23 points

Week 15 Suggestions

Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers - Owned in 29% of Yahoo and 23% of ESPN leagues

This 49ers’ offense is awful. Nick Mullens has no right being an NFL starting quarterback. He and the team continuously turn the ball over week-in and week-out. On top of that, Deebo Samuel is out for the season, most likely. They have allowed the seventh most fantasy points to opposing defenses. The Cowboys’ defense is fresh off of a dominating performance. I don’t expect them to go off as much as they did last week, but look for them to put up some points.

Tennessee Titans vs. Detroit Lions - Owned in 38% of Yahoo and 22% of ESPN leagues

Pickings are slim here in Week 15, so we’ll go with the Tennessee Titans. This team just allowed only ten points to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now, the Lions are a much better team and offense than the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Titans’ secondary is porous, but they can stop the run, which at this point of the season is the Lions’ strongest offensive asset. I think there’s a safe floor in this play as the Lions have allowed the 13th most fantasy points to opposing defenses.

New York Jets at Los Angeles Rams - Owned in 5% of Yahoo and 2.3% of ESPN leagues

The Jets’ defense has some good pieces. It is actually one good thing about that team, which isn’t saying much. This may seem like an odd play, but with the way Jared Goff turns the ball over, the Jets’ defense could get some points that way. Additionally, options for teams owned in less than 10% of leagues are limited. I don’t think this is a bad play at all. The Rams have also allowed the 15th most fantasy points to opposing defenses.
