Streamable Defenses - Week 12

https://www.newsday.com/sports/football/giants/jabrill-peppers-linebacker-safety-1.37148279

We’ve made it into the top ten of fantasy football defenses. We can thank the big week the Cleveland Browns’ defense had against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. Now that we’ve made it into the top ten, we need to set out sights on the top five. Another big week like we just had and we’ll get there.

The premise of this article is to bring forth three streamable defenses that fantasy football players should look to use for that respective week. To qualify for this series, defenses must be owned in less than 40-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues. At least one of the suggested defenses will be owned in less than 10-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues to cater to every fantasy player. You can find last week’s results below and previous week’s results at the bottom of this article.

The Cleveland Browns used two interceptions, a fumble recovery, five interceptions and a touchdown to score 20 fantasy points. This is the best performance of any pick through 11 weeks of the season. Our middle option, the Houston Texans, used two sacks of Cam Newton to record three fantasy points. The Bengals, our below 10-percent owned option, had a decent week with five fantasy points. They did so with two sacks and an interception. Let’s hope we can get a repeat performance like that of the Browns in Week 12.

Week 11 Results

Cleveland Browns vs. Philadelphia Eagles - 20 points

Cincinnati Bengals at Washington Football Team - 5 points

Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots - 3 points

Week 12 Suggestions

New York Giants at Cincinnati Bengals - Owned in 21% of Yahoo and 21.6% of ESPN leagues

This is an easy one, as most of this week will be honestly. The Bengals lost Joe Burrow last week for the season with a torn ACL and MCL. Now, they’ll be led by Ryan Finley who went three-for-ten and an interception after Burrow went down against the Washington Football Team. Career wise, he has a career completion percentage of 47-percent in three games, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He has a combined QBR of 23 in those three games. Finley is not good at football. You can expect a turnover or two out of the North Carolina State product. This Giants’ defense is also low-key good. They have eight interceptions, seven fumble recoveries, two touchdowns and are 11th in the league with an average of 2.5 sacks per game. This is a must play this week.

Seattle Seahawks at Philadelphia Eagles - Owned in 29% of Yahoo and 22.1% of ESPN leagues

The Seahawks’ defense is not good by any measures, but the Philadelphia Eagles are awful. Well, mainly Carson Wentz is awful. He is the reason the Browns’ defense scored 20 fantasy points for us last week. Carson Wentz has thrown 14 interceptions thus far this season, three more than Drew Lock and Kirk Cousins who have thrown 11. It’s pretty much a fact that Wentz will turn the ball over at least once in any given game. The Eagles have given up the ninth most fantasy points to opposing defenses. This Seahawks’ team also has recorded nine interceptions this season. They just give up a bunch of points in the process.

Carolina Panthers at Minnesota Vikings - Owned in 4% of Yahoo and 6.2% of ESPN leagues

As I stated earlier, finding streamable defenses for this week is easy. Heck, I had to leave a few options I’d love to roll out from this list. However, when it comes to defenses owned in less than 10-percent of leagues, options are limited. Of our options, the Panthers, coming off of a fantastic outing against the Detroit Lions is the best. They didn’t allow a single point to the Lions in route to 14 fantasy points in Week 11. They get the Vikings this week. As mentioned when talking about Wentz, Cousins has thrown the second most interceptions thus far this season with 11. The Panthers had a season high five sacks last week. I know the Vikings and Cousins are playing some good football as of late, but we know how flat Cousins can fall from week-to-week.
