Streamable Defenses - Week 10

https://www.stampedeblue.com/2019/10/10/20905080/week-5-colts-defense-by-the-numbers-dsr-epa

It was another middle-of-the-pack week on my end. I had some very high expectations for the likes of the Cleveland Browns as they played the Denver Broncos and Brandon Allen, who had never taken an NFL snap before. That’s on me for believing in that team I guess. Yes, they had five points, but I was under the impression that they were going to have a double-digit week. I also thought the Jets would put up some quality numbers but no, all they did was allow Ryan Fitzpatrick to put up 288 yards and three touchdowns. Who would have thought that it would be the Miami Dolphins’ defense who led my picks this week. Fantasy football really is a wild thing.

Every week I offer three defenses owned in less than 40% of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues that are deemed streamable for the week. I also include one defense that is owned in less than 10% across both formats to cater to as many leagues and as many of my readers as I can. This article can be found on our website every Tuesday night. You can find last week’s results below and previous week’s results at the bottom of this article.

Week 9 Results

Cleveland Browns at Denver Broncos - 5 points

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins - 6 points

Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets - 8 points

Week 10 Streamable Defenses

Indianapolis Colts vs. Miami Dolphins - Owned in 40% of Yahoo and 37.7% of ESPN leagues

The Colts play hosts to the Miami Dolphins and as you know, we love to play the defense that is playing the Miami Dolphins, for obvious reasons. The Dolphins have given up the second most fantasy points to opposing defenses. Indianapolis also has not scored less than seven points over their last four games, including 10 and nine point performances against the Chiefs and Texans respectively. The Colts too could be without Jacoby Brissett and we could see the team slow the game down with Brian Hoyer at the helm. The Colts do have the ability to run the ball behind their offensive line with the likes of Marlon Mack leading the way. I’m predicting a 10+ point performance this week out of the Colts’ defense.

New York Giants at New York Jets - Owned in 6% of Yahoo and 2.7% of ESPN leagues

The New York Jets are a dumpster fire. The Jets allowed the Miami Dolphins’ defense to post eight fantasy points last week, literally doubling their season total from weeks one through eight. The Giants have been clicking a bit recently as well where they posted 12, 10 and eight fantasy points against the Patriots, Cardinals and Lions respectively before facing the Dallas Cowboys last week where they posted just three points. Let’s not forget to mention that Sam Darnold has thrown 12 interceptions over the last four games as well. It’s not a good situation for the Jets.

Kansas City Chiefs at Tennessee Titans - Owned in 24% of Yahoo and 13.7% of ESPN leagues

Believe it or not, the Kansas City Chiefs’ defense is actually good, especially their secondary, which ranks 11th against the pass. They do have a glaring weakness against the running game but were able to keep Dalvin Cook to just 71 yards rushing a week ago. The Chiefs also do a very good job of getting to the quarterback as they have 26 on the season, good enough for seventh in the league. Let’s not forget that they are tied for fourth in the league in forced fumbles as well. What I’m trying to do here is point out that the Chiefs defense is competent and has a nice match-up with the Tennessee Titans who have allowed the 11th most fantasy points to opposing defenses, this week.
