It’s weird how this series works. Some weeks when I think the options are light, they all kill it. Weeks when I believe there to be a bunch of strong options, they score minimally. The latter is what happened in Week 11. I for sure thought the Miami Dolphins would score more than five points against the New York Jets and that the Carolina Panthers would play inspired upon the return of franchise great Cam Newton. Well, we still have three top 15 defenses and two top six performances. Let’s see what Week 12 has in store for us.
If you’re anything like me, you don’t draft a defense, or wait until your very last pick. I always find it more important to use earlier selections on position players as you can find great value on the waiver wire each week for defenses. I will also keep a running total of my top, second and below 10-percent results and provide a ranking of where my results rank according to other defenses throughout the season.
The premise of this article is to bring forth three streamable defenses that fantasy football players should look to use for that respective week. To qualify for this series, defenses must be owned in less than 40-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues. At least one of the suggested defenses will be owned in less than 10-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues to cater to every fantasy player. You can find last week’s results below and previous week’s results at the bottom of this article.
The Miami Dolphins allowed 17 points to the New York Jets while recording two sacks and one fumble recovery. The Carolina Panthers allowed 27 points in a losing effort to the Washington Football Team. They recorded three sacks and a fumble recovery. The New York Jets allowed 24 points to the Miami Dolphins and intercepted Tua Tagovailoa once.

Week 12 Suggestions
Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions - Owned in 27% of Yahoo and 13.1% of ESPN leagues
In this year’s rendition of the classic Thanksgiving Day game, we get two of the worst teams in the entire NFL. How are we supposed to ignore our in laws with football when it’s these two teams? Either way, the Chicago Bears are the superior of the two teams and their defense should have their way with the Detroit Lions’ offense, just as every team they have faced has. The Lions have allowed the sixth most fantasy points to opposing defenses. The Bears still have some quality pieces on the defensive side of the ball. Look for Jared Goff and company to struggle as you fall asleep following dinner.
Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants - Owned in 19% of Yahoo and 12.6% of ESPN leagues
The Philadelphia Eagles have been playing some good football as of late. They’ve won three of their last four and their defense has put up 11-plus fantasy points in those three victories. They aren’t getting to the quarterback much as of late, recording just one sack in three games, but are taking the ball away. During those same three wins they have recorded a defensive touchdown in each. The Eagles get the Giants this week who have allowed the 11th most fantasy points to opposing defenses and just moved on from offensive coordinator Jason Garrett on Tuesday.
Houston Texans vs. New York Jets - Owned in 3% of Yahoo and 0.9% of ESPN leagues
Don’t look now, but this Houston Texans’ team has been playing some good football as of late. They held the Dolphins to just 17 points in a loss and then held the Titans to 13 points in a surprising victory. In those two games, the Texans’ defense scored 15 and 16 fantasy points respectively. Now, in Week 12, they get the New York Jets who have allowed the third most fantasy points to opposing defenses.
