Streamable Defenses of the Week - Week 11

Man, have we been hitting big on the Streamable Defenses of the Week. I don’t know how to feel with our middle suggestion out scoring our top suggestion, but at last we’re producing somewhere. The last three weeks have seen a huge jump in out under 10-percent owned suggestion as it’s moved from the DST32 to the DST14 in just three weeks. We have two top-six suggestions in this series and each of our three suggestions are top 14. I’d call that a success. Let’s see if we can’t make up any more ground in Week 11.

If you’re anything like me, you don’t draft a defense, or wait until your very last pick. I always find it more important to use earlier selections on position players as you can find great value on the waiver wire each week for defenses. I will also keep a running total of my top, second and below 10-percent results and provide a ranking of where my results rank according to other defenses throughout the season.

The premise of this article is to bring forth three streamable defenses that fantasy football players should look to use for that respective week. To qualify for this series, defenses must be owned in less than 40-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues. At least one of the suggested defenses will be owned in less than 10-percent of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues to cater to every fantasy player. You can find last week’s results below and previous week’s results at the bottom of this article.

The Tennessee Titans kept their win streak alive, extending it to six games. Along the way, they allowed 21 points to the New Orleans Saints while recording four sacks and recovering a fumble. The Green Bay Packers didn’t allow a single point to the Seattle Seahawks in Russell Wilson’s return, adding three sacks and two interceptions. The Philadelphia Eagles picked up a victory in Denver while allowing just 13 points, recording one sack and recovering a fumble for a touchdown.

Week 10 Results

Tennessee Titans vs. New Orleans Saints - 6 points

Green Bay Packers vs. Seattle Seahawks - 17 points

Philadelphia Eagles at Denver Broncos - 15 points

Overall Results

Top Suggestions - 78 points (DST6)

Middle Suggestions - 90 points (DST3)

Under 10% Owned - 64 points (DST14)

Week 11 Suggestions

Miami Dolphins at New York Jets - Owned in 27% of Yahoo and 15.5% of ESPN leagues

Whenever a team plays the New York Jets, we have to include them in the Streamable Defenses of the Week if eligible. Beyond that, this Dolphins' defense has been pretty good as of late. In their last two games against the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens, they allowed a combined 19 points while recording nine sacks, four interceptions, two fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown. Playing the worst offense in the league, at least in allowing fantasy points to opposing teams, the Dolphins are our top play of the week.

Carolina Panthers vs. Washington Football Team - Owned in 31% of Yahoo and 48.1% of ESPN leagues

The Carolina Panthers are a team re-inspired upon the return of franchise legend Cam Newton. Last week against a Kyler Murray-less Arizona Cardinals team, the Panthers allowed just ten points while recording four sacks along with a fumble and interception in a victory over the Arizona Cardinals. On the season, the Washington Football Team has allowed the 11th most fantasy points to opposing defenses. I like the Panthers this week.

New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins - Owned in 1% of Yahoo and 3.1% of ESPN leagues

I made it a rule to never suggest the New York Jets’ defense in this series since the last time I did weeks ago but here I am. The Miami Dolphins are in an odd situation. Tua Tagovailoa is set to start this week after coming in to relieve Jacoby Briseett last week in a victory over the Ravens. Tua still is not 100-percent, which will allow the Jets’ defense to do some damage. The Dolphins' have also allowed the fifth most fantasy points to opposing defenses.
