Fantasy Baseball - Waiver Wire (Week 9)

https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/baseball/news/fantasy-baseball-waiver-wire-brady-singer-jose-urquidy-become-high-priority-streamers-for-final-week/

We’ve made it. nine straight weeks of Nate’s weekly fantasy baseball waiver wire suggestions. This will be the final installment of this series until next season as the final week of this shortened 2020 season is upon us. I’d like to thank you, if you’re reading this, for trusting me with your weekly waiver wire targets. Even if this is your first time glancing at one of these, thank you. For one last time in 2020, Nate with We Know Fantasy will present at least five fantasy baseball waiver wire targets to add for the upcoming week. To qualify for this series, players must be owned in less than 40% of Yahoo and/or ESPN leagues.

Last week’s suggestions could have been better. Bobby Dalbec was a bit of a disappointment and D.J. Stewart’s value was saved by having six RBIs. Rafael Dolis saw little-to-no game time as well. Deivi Garcia had a decent week in getting a win, but he allowed nine earned runs over two starts and 10 innings. Willi Castro was arguably our most productive add a week ago as he hit .270 with two homers and six RBIs.

Week 8 results

D.J. Stewart, OF, Baltimore Orioles - 4/29, 1 HR, 6 RBI

Deivi Garcia, SP, New York Yankees - 10 IP, 1 W, 9 ER, 8 K

Bobby Dalbec, 1B/3B, Boston Red Sox - 5/22, 1 HR, 1 RBI

Rafael Dolis, RP, Toronto Blue Jays - 1.1 IP, 0 ER, 3 K

Willi Castro, 3B/SS, Detroit Tigers - 7/26, 2 HR, 6 RBI

Week 9 Suggestions

Brady Singer, SP, Kansas City Royals - Owned in 31% of Yahoo and 23.6% of ESPN leagues

Singer will make one more start this season, at least fantasy season, against the St. Louis Cardinals. In his most previous outing against the Detroit Lions, he allowed just two hits over six innings. I’m not saying he’s going to repeat these numbers in his match-up with the Cardinals, but he has been throwing well as of late. Against the Cleveland Indians on Sept. 10, he allowed one hit over eight innings pitched. If I’m in the playoffs in my league, Singer will be on my roster.

Austin Slater, 1B/OF, San Francisco 49ers - Owned in 14% of Yahoo and 6.1% of ESPN leagues

Slater was recently removed from the injury report and needs to be picked up for your championship run. Slater has made some big changes over the past off-season to improve his swing, which is evident in his 1.030 OPS he was hitting through the first 22 games of the season, before he left with injury. The Giants will finish with the Rockies and Padres to finish the season.

https://arizonasports.com/story/2033923/diamondbacks-option-rhp-stefan-crichton-to-triple-a/

Stefan Crichton, RP, Arizona Diamondbacks - Owned in 29% of Yahoo and 12.4% of ESPN leagues

Crichton is the Diamondback’s everyday closer. He’s recorded three saves over the past week alone. As we hit the final week of the season, it’s important to squeeze every last bit of production you can from anyone. If Crichton can give you another three saves in this final week, that could be enough to put you over the edge in winning your league.

Nate Lowe, 1B, Tampa Bay Rays - Owned in 14% of Yahoo and 8.7% of ESPN leagues

Nate Lowe has finally gotten his chance to show what he can do this season after spending the majority of it at the Tampa Bay alternative site. Since coming up on Sept. 11, Lowe has nine hits in 22 at-bats. Included in that is three home runs, nine RBIs, seven runs and a steal. There’s something special about this Rays’ team this season and I want as many parts of it as I can, even if it is just for the final week of the season.

Ty France, 2B/3B, Seattle Mariners - Owned in 14% of Yahoo and 21.2% of ESPN leagues

The Seattle Mariners have been a waiver wire gold mine for most of the season. It’s only fitting that they provide us with one last waiver wire gem in this final week of the season. France has been hitting second in this Mariners’ lineup and he has some great power off the bat. He makes great contact as he’s hitting .309 over just about 85 at-bats. He’s added four homers and 17 RBIs in that same time span.
